Myth busters Ep. 2, november 5, 2012

1. What myths were presented in the video?
The myths presented were the fireball-stungun myth and the sky-rocket chair myth.2. What do the words busted, plausible and confirmed mean?
busted means not possible, plausible means possible, and confirmed means it works.
3. Which myths were busted, which were not?
Fireball stun-gun is plausible, sky-rocket chair is busted.
4. What would you have done differently in any of the experiments.
I would have used more powerful rockets in the sky-rocket chair myth
5. What myth would you like them to bust?
The myth that if you load a gun, you can catch on fire from gun-powder particles in the air.

Myth Busters Ep. 1, November 5, 2012

The myth's presented were the Archimedes Mirror myth and the car punch myth.
The word plausible means possible, the word busted means not possible, and the word confirmed means that it will work.
Both of the myths were busted.
If i were testing those myths I would have got more people to aim mirrors and on the other one I would have used a piston to punch the car.
I would want them to test if you can actually hit two birds with one stone.

Evolution and natural selection

Evolution is the process of a species changing over time by means of natural selection. Natural selection is when a certain variation or mutation of a species survives better than normal or different varieties of the same species. This process causes that variation of the species to reproduce and thus slowly fading out the original variation of the species over eons. The process will repeat itself over and over and slowly creating an entirely new species.

actual egg drop

Today (april 18, 2012) we did an egg drop. An egg drop is where we each make a device that stops an egg from breaking. Lots of the designs worked. My design was a small 8x8x12 cardboard box with an egg suspended in the middle of the box with rubber bands, it worked. My favorite deign was Lawson's, He had a small pouch attached to a bunch of balloons, it worked also. It was a lot of fun building the devices, plus my design was a lot of people's favorites.

egg drop

1. My guess for the height of when an egg will break from a fall is 85 cm

2. The actual height of when an egg will break from a fall is 13 cm.  T_T

3. My guess for how many paper towels needed to save the egg from breaking from a cm fall is: 40

4. The actual amount for how many paper towels are needed to save the egg from breaking from a cm fall is: 10   T_T

tesla mini project

Nikola Tesla is famous for inventing the AC current and the AC bulb. one of his less famous invents was the tesla coil. he wanted to make lots f giant tesla coils and put them all over the world so he could "electrify the earth" so everyone could have free wireless energy. thomas Edison wanted to make everyone afraid of Tesla's invents so they would keep using his DC current instead os Tesla's AC current.
Tesla didn't like the fact that we used oil and gasoline to power our lives, he thought it was wasteful. he wanted everything to be powered by electricity.
This is a working Tesla Coil:

resonance

Science Demo - Resonance
1. What I think will happen when the sound is played for the wine glass is: the glass will wobble and break
2. What really happened was: it only barely wobbled `
3. What does resonance have to do with bridge building? because if they don't buildna bridge right, the resonance of things like earthquakes, will destroy it.
Words:
1. Resonance - Is putting in energy at just the right time to increase the energy
2. Hertz- How many times per second
3. Frequency- the rate that something happens
4. Oscillate- to move back and forth
